About the Role
A reputed diagnostic centre in Chennai is hiring an experienced Lab Technician to handle routine and specialised laboratory investigations. The role demands accuracy, speed, and thorough adherence to lab safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform haematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and serology tests as per clinical requisition
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including auto-analysers and haematology counters
- Collect, label, and handle patient samples as per standard operating procedures
- Prepare and validate test reports with accuracy within specified turnaround times
- Maintain laboratory registers, inventory logs, and quality control records
- Adhere strictly to biosafety and infection-control guidelines at all times
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or DMLT from a recognized institution
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in a clinical or diagnostic lab
- Familiarity with NABL/ISO quality standards
- Proficiency in operating standard lab equipment and LIS (Lab Information Systems)
Nice to Have
- Experience with specialised panels: hormone assays, tumour markers, or allergy testing
- Knowledge of NABL accreditation processes
